Ashan Malalasekera

Chairman, Avonsmart Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

Ashan holds diversified and extensive working experience in the media, non-governmental, social development and private sectors. He has worked in senior management positions for UNESCO, USAID, Development Alternative Inc., MAS Holdings and has spent considerable time in Israel and Japan as part of his work. He has a Master of Arts in Peace & Conflict Studies from the University of New South Wales, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Lycoming College, USA.

Sanjiv Malalasekera

Joint Managing Director, Avonsmart Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

Sanjiv joined Arinma in 2012. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant from Australia and also holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and degrees in Accounting and Finance from Monash University in Melbourne Australia. He is also a member of the Securities Futures Institute in the UK as well as having attended a number of Executive Education Programs run by INSEAD. Sanjiv has been working for over 20 years with Arthur Andersen/Ernst and Young in both Sydney and London as a senior manager in their audit and consulting divisions. He has also worked in Investment Banking, specifically with Credit Suisse, London as an Equity Research Analyst and Morgan Stanley, Sydney in their Structured Aviation Team. Sanjiv's last overseas role was as the head of Strategic Initiatives Asia - Corporate Banking with the Australia New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ Bank) in Singapore.

Sudesh Gamage

Chief Executive Officer, Avonsmart Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

Sudesh heads the Avonsmart Technical Team and provides leadership and extensive support through Strategic Planning and Development, Process Implementation and Project Management. He holds a Master's Degree from the University of Wrexham Glyndwr and has over 15 years of experience in the Marketing and Project Management industry.

Avonsmart's target market has been segmented into the following:

There are approximately 10 potential customers in the Government sector that own more than 85% of the construction machinery in the country. The private sector (both local and overseas companies) consists of about 30 customers owning the remaining 15% of the construction heavy machinery related to all sectors in Sri Lanka.

Infrastructure

Workshop Facility

Avonsmart has a central workshop in Colombo as well as in three more strategic locations across the country. All these workshops are fully staffed with team leaders, electricians and technicians, tools, and essential spare parts. All locations are also equipped with a 24/7 mobile service and necessary tools and equipment.

Avonsmart is also in the process of further developing its central workshop in suburban Colombo with all modern facilities to cater to the MRO needs of construction machinery owners. This workshop will have an area for manufacturers working with Avonsmart to display their equipment and facilitate direct marketing to new clients. This will be heavily marketed to companies and authorities who are looking at purchasing any type of heavy machinery in Sri Lanka.

In addition to the above facilities these workshops have dedicated spaces for each manufacturer to display the spare parts and prototype of their products. These spaces can be used by the manufacturers’ representatives as their offices and can be used for product promotions.

The workshops also have a modern spare part racking system for the storage of spares from different manufacturers.

Avonsmart currently operates 24x7 service units in Anuradhapura, Tissamaharama and Batticaloa. These are strategically located to respond to customer calls faster. The service units are equipped with the following:
